Your special day should be one of a kind, just like the two of you. As Atlanta wedding planners, it’s our duty to curate the completely unique event that is your wedding day. Trends are ever-present and we try and steer our couples away from over-done styles as much as possible to achieve that unique celebration everyone deserves. One way to make your day unique is to incorporate personal elements from your love story. We make sure our couples’ personalities are present in the design. Your family and loved ones should feel right at home at your wedding, because it’s a reflection of your love story. Here are some ways to weave your story into your special day, making it that much more special.
Think back to when you first met. Maybe the two of you met in college. In that case, having pompoms that reflect your college colors could be waved during sendoff. Or perhaps you were first introduced or had your first date at a restaurant that is special to you two. This spot could be a nice location for your rehearsal dinner, or even your reception depending on your style and guest count. Reminisce about that period of time when everything was fresh and new. Thinking back to this will help you brainstorm ideas on what to incorporate on the day of. One of our amazing couples met at a restaurant where the groom worked. The bride ordered a unique cocktail that just so happened to be the groom’s favorite drink. He knew immediately it was meant to be! Needless to say, this drink is their signature cocktail and is dear to their hearts!
Sometimes the location of this sweet spot could be incorporated in the design. For instance, if the location of your proposal was picturesque, such as a mountaintop or garden, a photo could be included on the guestbook or gift table. If it happened during a trip, maybe a possession you acquired along the journey could be displayed. Reminding the two of you and all your loved ones where it all began.
Do the two of you have a favorite food, drink, or hobby that you’re obsessed with? Maybe there’s a favorite snack or dish that you always crave together. This special food could be one of the passed hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour or a dish served at dinner. This binge-worthy snack may be from an outside vendor. So, maybe a cocktail hour food truck or late-night snack table could make an appearance on the day of. As Atlanta wedding planners, we love when our couples showcase a beloved element on their wedding day. One of our couples that’s tying the knot this fall incorporated their love of wine into their design. Wine corks from the couples’ collection will be displayed on the guestbook table for guests to sign.
Don’t lose site of the fact that this day is all about the two of you! It’s a reflection of two unique personalities coming together in unity. What better way to display this than showcasing elements from your love story? As your Atlanta wedding planners, the Detailed I Do’s team will help weave these special elements into your day, making it perfectly reflective of who you are.
