Little River Farms rests outside of the busy Atlanta city limits, just shy of Alpharetta. This charming wedding venue is quiet, quaint, and gives a modern twist on Southern style. In addition to planning + design, we officially announced Detailed I Do’s as the newest Atlanta wedding florist. Since then it’s been our goal to take the market by storm, so needless to say we could not wait to organize another styled shoot with some incredible vendors!
We combined different textures like the rocky stone fireplace and the sunburst lace on the Samantha gown by Truvelle Bridal to create a unique mixture that beguiled both our love for modern and classic Southern style. Keep reading below for more details and the behind the scenes scoop on how we put this shoot together.
Our head floral designer, Megan, carefully crafted these arrangements organically so they would cover a wider space and stand out better against the earthy stone. Watching Megan create arrangements is truly mesmerizing. She works to make each arrangement appear three dimensional from all angles. She’s constantly turning the vessel to ensure that every stem flows together in a unique way.
These pillar candles inside of the fireplace represents a simple yet romantic look. Our floral team placed vines weaving in and out of the candle display to create this installation. By staggering the candles and greenery we were able to add even more depth and texture to this gorgeous stone fireplace at Little River Farms.
We scouted our model, Connor Weigand, from Instagram. Just like her blog name, Tousled Up, Connor rocks an adorable yet edgy short, tousled cut that accentuates her killer jaw line. Connor was such a dream to work with and we had so much fun with her from the moment she arrived on set. Margaret of Margaret Snider Artistry created the perfect messy waves and a darker, smoky lid on Connor. We wanted this hair and makeup look to stray away from, yet compliment the girly Samantha gown.
How stunning are these shots Hannah Forsberg captured of Connor by these floor to ceiling windows inside the reception space? Hannah shoots both film and digital, but truly has a love for film. We feel like the color and crispness of her images is something only film can provide. There’s just something about shooting with film that feels classic and pure.
Head planner, Danielle, fell in love with this smoke colored Vintage Stripe linen from La Tavola. As Atlanta wedding designers, we love bold linens on the estate table. This particular linen is actually made of true linen, so it has a nice, heavy weight to it that gives the tablescape more texture.
We chose the Madeline Chairs by Mayker Creative because they pair so well with the earthy, yet Southern aesthetic of Little River Farms. We kept it classic with dinnerware from TableMade.Co from their Fortessa Heirloom Collection. Can we just say how much we genuinely adore working with our rental partners? We consider the founders of these two companies dear friends and love the way they rock the Atlanta wedding industry!
Our tablescape sat in the middle of one of Little River Farms’ gorgeous meadows. It was pretty hot this day, and by pretty we mean the Georgia humidity was in full swing. Due to the shifting clouds, the light kept changing and as a result of this we did have to move the table more than once. Styled shoots are definitely a labor of love, especially when elements you can’t control start to change. But, each shoot we plan and style means so much to us and it’s always a blessing to use our creativity in such a freeing way.
Our planning + design team loves playing around with the layout of the tablescape. Whether it’s the candles, stationery, or flatware at styled shoots, we tweak the styling until we find something that fits perfectly with the vibe we’re going for. Sometimes we plan this in advance and other times it happens spontaneously on the day of the shoot. This careful attention to detail is also seen on wedding days for each of our clients whom we adore.
This dainty head piece from The Sentimentalist floated perfectly in Connor’s messy waves. We knew before we arrived at Little River Farms that at some point we wanted Connor in the branches of this snowball bush becoming one with nature.
Between this all-star vendor team and the sheer beauty that arose out of this shoot, we are so thrilled to be sharing our second of three styled shoots we’ve planned this year. Each using our Atlanta wedding florist and her team. Detailed I Do’s continues to grow to new heights with each addition to our team and we can’t wait to see what the rest of this year brings!
