In film and television a meet-cute is when two characters have a charming first encounter that it seems fate has led them to. These two stumbled upon each other in an Atlanta coffee shop. The timing was perfect and it was no coincidence. These two are made for each other in every way. Getting to plan Molly and Cody’s wedding brought us joy, laughter, and memories we as wedding planners will never forget. Keep scrolling to see the gorgeous details of this Callanwolde wedding.
Molly and Cody both started off their day at Hotel Clermont but were separated until the First Look at Callanwolde. I had the pleasure of stopping by the hotel before heading to the venue. I got to see both Molly and Cody and the joy that both of them embodied brought a smile to all the friends and family around them. Both were giddy with laughter and couldn’t wait to head to the venue to meet each other!
Molly paired her sleek gown from Kelly’s Closet with a gorgeous cape from The Sentimentalist. The dainty pin shown above was used to secure the cape. We love detailed shots like this one. Even photos of the smallest of details have a significance to them.
Before we delve into to this stunning First Look in Callandowolde’s Ballet Room, can we just say Molly’s bouquet is one of our favorites ever?! The contrast between the tones and those dark plum leaves are so gorgeous! Okay, now brace yourself for this First Look.
These black and white shots of the two of them are like timeless portraits from a decade long ago. When Elliott gave us the cue that Cody was seated and turned around, our team eagerly gave Molly the go and we all stood there holding our breath in anticipation.
This photo of Molly with her bouquet in front of the fireplace is everything! When she first arrived at the venue we were stopped dead in our tracks by her beauty. This girl is so smiley, warm, and hilarious all wrapped into one and we love her so much!
We love the classic portrait style approach Elliott took when he shot Molly and Cody in the ballet room. We’re convinced this is the photo their grandchildren will stare at one day and just think ‘wow’.
This is where Molly stood before taking her stroll down the staircase and up to the aisle. She was beaming with excitement and her adrenaline kicked in just before walking down. She was so excited to make her grand entrance and meet Cody.
Our floral team decked these railings out in greenery and blooms. Our head floral designer, Megan, has a way with manipulating plants into looking like they’re growing perfectly up a structure. This floral installation appeared as though it had just sprouted up out of the wood and that’s where it belonged. With Megan’s keen eye for movement and the rest of our team’s savvy skills, the ceremony space was totally transformed.
The staircase at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is stunning, but not as stunning as Molly looked while making her entrance. You could hear guests audibly gasping as she appeared at the top. Bouquet in hand, she gracefully sauntered to the bottom to meet her father and they walked arm in arm the rest of the way to Cody. It was epic and tear-filled and wonderful.
Directly in the center of the back wall in the reception space is a glass door leading out to some of the beautiful gardens. We decided to line the cake table up with this and make it a focal point. Climbing up the base of the cake table was more greenery, which was also carried throughout the space on pillars and the chandeliers. Two long farm tables hosted immediate family and close friends.
The groom’s cake was a family recipe from Cody’s great grandmother, Big Mama. Cody entrusted Nicole of Gingerspice Bakery to re-create this nostalgic cake and boy did she deliver! It was so special seeing Cody and his family getting to enjoy this family treat and feel like Big Mama was right there celebrating with them.
After the ceremony, these two literally had the greatest wardrobe changes of all time. Cody with french braids and red kicks and Molly in this gorgeous beaded party dress and feather hair comb. These two were ready for the party of the century.
After a night full of dancing, sazeracs, and laughs these two were sent off with loads of love and bubbles. Molly and Cody, it was an honor being your planning and design team for your Callanwolde wedding. You two are so much fun and are truly surrounded by so much love. We wish you all the best!
