For your first holiday season as a married couple you should create some unique traditions of your own. Our team of Southern wedding planners has put together a Newlywed Bucket List for you remaining days of 2019. Do something spontaneous with the remaining weeks of this year! Whether its driving up the road or taking a day trip, you and your spouse can enjoy a memory that’s all your own. As the years go by sometimes the holidays get more complicated and often times stressful, so take advantage of this precious time as a newly married couple!
Located in Sandy Springs, Georgia, Santa’s Fantastical is an indoor experience filled with holiday cheer. One of their missions is to create family traditions! Inside you’ll find characters in costume, live performances, nostalgic games, and a winter wonderland. And yes, of course there’s a bar and eats! Walk among a maze of huge light-up ornaments and don’t forget to stop and chat with Santa + Mrs. Clause. From today until the 24th full-access tickets are $34.95. Or, if you want to skip straight to the bar, you can get tickets for Dash To The ‘Stache for just $10. This ticket is located inside Santa’s Fantastical and gives you access to the seasonal cocktails and of course some fun holiday experiences. Also, parking is free!
Every year the Atlanta Botanical Gardens creates holiday magic with their holiday lights event. It’s the perfect spot to get a hot cup of cocoa and stroll through the breathtaking gardens that are so wonderfully illuminated. Every year the exhibits reappear, such as the colorful orbs that light up in sync to your favorite holiday songs. But each year there are giant displays made from plants. This year’s exhibit is Alice and Wonderland themed with a holiday twist to it. It really is the perfect date night. Tickets from now until December 30th are $34.95 and then drop down to $27.95 for the last two nights of the year. They also offer a late night special for admission after 9:00 pm for $16.95, which would be so fun after getting a bite to eat in the city!
If anyone knows how to stay classy but still enjoy a few it’s southern wedding planners. A more boozy date night could be spent visiting one of Atlanta’s two Miracle Bars. Just like the other two experiences above, a trip to a Miracle Bar is truly a holiday experience. There are two locations: Miracle on Monroe in Virginia Highlands and Miracle on Highland in Inman Park. These pop-up Christmas-themed cocktail bars have yummy seasonal drinks and you can’t help but get in the holiday spirit while inside. If you do plan on going make sure to get there earlier in the night to put your name in because on weekends these pop-ups are poppin’ (pun intended). These bars return year after year because of their popularity, so this makes for a great Atlanta holiday tradition.
Visiting Atlanta’s Fox Theatre is always a special experience, but it’s even more magical during the holidays. The Nutcracker is performed every year by the Atlanta Ballet. The Atlanta Ballet was founded in 1929 and remains one of the most premier in the country. This will make for such a lovely tradition. Plus, if kids come into the picture, this gives you an excuse to get away for a date night. Tickets to see The Nutcracker start at $35 plus fees. If you want to visit a different theater there are plenty of other options. The Alliance Theatre, the leading producing theater in the Southeast, is showing A Christmas Carol. Tickets can be found here but hurry because they’re going fast! Another great theater in the city is the Horizon Theatre showing Waffle Palace Christmas. This sarcastic show will have laughing all the way through. Tickets can be found here.
With these ideas for date nights, go ahead and get planning! You have two weeks left of 2019 and what better way to spend it than making memories with your spouse?
