Any day at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Lake Oconee is a magical one but November 2nd, 2019 was particularly perfect because it was Meredith and Matt’s wedding day! I absolutely adored working with these two. Both are incredibly driven, kind, and overall warm people and together they make the loveliest duo.
On this day, we had the most wonderful weather: sunny skies with the slightest breeze coming off Lake Oconee. The morning was quiet and calm with chirping birds and the faint sound of boats going by out on the water. Keep scrolling to see how this gorgeous Ritz Carlton Reynolds wedding unfolded.
Styled invitation shots are some of our favorite things on a wedding day. Getting to play around with the lay of each piece of stationery and add in fun little details is so much fun for us. On this day in particular, we had the pleasure of working with Laura Stone Photography, who took the styling by the reins and created this gorgeous flat lay shot!
Meredith and her girls got ready in a suite that led right out onto the main lawn by the reception space, The Pavilion. The weather was so nice, they left the doors open so the breeze could flow in and out, plus it made for the perfect natural light while Rainey O’Keefe and her team worked their hair and makeup magic.
Meredith looked stunning in her embellished lace gown from Gown Collective. She’s such a beautiful person on the inside and out and we could feel the love in the room as her close friends and family saw her for the first time in her wedding dress. Next up was her First Look with her Dad, so we were all prepping ourselves with tissues at the ready.
Laura Stone and her team placed Meredith’s dad on the pathway by The Pavilion with his back to the hotel for their First Look. Meredith came up being him, bouquet in hand, and the smiles on their faces said it all. The two exchanged gifts, laughed, and hugged. The Detailed I Do’s team and all of Meredith’s ladies stood watching in the doorway of the suite and there was not a dry eye in the house.
Before the First Look, Laura Stone captured moments of Meredith posing solo in the woods. The ceremony took place at The Pointe, which is down a long pathway to the lake. Tall pine trees surround the ceremony area and the sunlight pours in at just the right spots. For the First Look, Meredith stood behind a tree and we planted Matt in the middle of the path with his eyes shut. We actually had to lead Matt all the way down the pathway with his eyes shut so he wouldn’t see his bride before we put him in position. With his eyes tightly shut, Matt stood there with such excitement. Laura gave him the cue to open his eyes and in that moment Meredith appeared. Below is one of the shots of Matt’s expression when he saw Meredith for the first time.
Down at The Pointe, Liz, of Adaptation Floral Design, crafted the perfect look that complimented the natural beauty of the space. We incorporated a circular rug to make the area feel more homey. Liz placed these gorgeous arrangements in large gold vessels on natural wooden pillars. The aisle was embellished with Queen Anne’s Lace and a bed of rose petals all the way down. Meredith and Matt got to soak it all in with some couple’s portraits before guests started arriving.
The aisle down to The Pointe is the long nature trail. From our first meeting, Meredith shared that she wanted to walk the entire path. We love when brides take full advantage of their special moment. It goes by so fast, so why not make it epic?! I love that Meredith had this desire and knew this choice would make the moment that much more memorable. When Meredith and her father appeared around the bend, it was truly a breathtaking moment. The violins ringing, the birds chirping, and the soft rush of the breeze surrounded guests as they witnessed the two profess their lives to one another.
And here they are officially for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Stauch!! These two were on cloud nine on their way back down the aisle joined as one. Now it was time for more couple’s portraits and cocktail hour out on the Flagstone Patio.
The Pavilion reception space is a new additional to the Ritz Carlton Reynolds wedding scene. It’s vast ceilings and oodles of natural light only add to the already organic and natural vibe. The fireplace is centered on the back wall, so we quickly decided that would be the focal point. Adaptation Floral Design decked out the space with gorgeous blooms, candlelight, and greenery. The ceremony arrangements were repurposed around the fireplace and adorned with more candlelight. The fireplace remained lit the entire evening and cast a nice warm glow on the room.
We always love when ceremony florals can be repurposed to other areas throughout the day. Adding these flaked arrangements on either side of the fireplace made it even more eye catching to guest as they mingled and danced the night away.
When we say these guests danced the night away, it was a dance party like we’ve never seen. There were several groups that never left the dance floor from the moment it opened. At one point in the evening Austin Reach Events invited Meredith and Matt up on stage to DJ for their guests. We’re obsessed with this picture of these two leading the crowd because it was such a fun moment for everyone!
A late night pizza bar magically appeared for guest to snack on during all the dancing. And by magically I mean the incredibly attentive and swift Ritz Carlton Reynolds staff made it happen. Once the smell of pizza began wafting through The Pavilion, guests came running.
After an epic dance party these two were sent off with sparklers. They hopped onto a golf cart which led them up to the lobby where the party continued up at the bar.
Meredith and Matt, it was such a joy working with you to bring this day to life. We’re so thankful to have served as your wedding planning team during this special time. We wish you all the newlywed bliss and will be reliving this day for years to come!
